We said good-bye to the 1993 Pontiac Bonneville this past weekend. 16 years ... now that's a long life in car years. She wheeled her way into our lives about 6.5 years ago after John inherited her from his grandmother. Yes, sometimes people did call her a "grandma" car, but we really didn't care. In fact, sometimes John would pat her dashboard, chuckle, and say to me, "this is what it feels like to drive in a luxury vehicle." Well, to us she was a luxury vehicle because we didn't have a car payment and her upkeep cost us very little ... until this past fall. She got a little tempermental and expensive. Then she became what we call the 1/2 car ... drivable around town but not on the highway ... We drive our cars "into the ground." She was good to us, but I won't miss her.
Stay tuned to see our new wheels!
Bye Bye BONNIE!!!! :( I guess they cared more about the mini-van than you... :)
ReplyDeleteIt finally kicked it, eh? Can't wait to see the new wheels!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me laugh, Pam! :)
ReplyDeleteDid you go to the hospital in the car with the girlies? My dad had a VW beetle that drove us all to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteGetting a new car is exciting. Too bad paying for it isn't :)
