Trick or Treat?

I have fun childhood memories of my trick or treat days. I never fretted too much about my costume. It was only a means to an end. My favorite part was sorting through the candy with my brothers and trading the sweets that I didn't want. I never parted with a bag of M&Ms. Mom always took my Bit-O-Honey's. Somehow my brothers always ended up with more candy than me.

"Adorable" ... That's what John said when he saw his little girls in their costumes. We spent our beggar's night with friends from church. Anna was such a big girl.

Getting ready to hit the streets
"What do you mean? I have to stay home with Daddy?"
The first of many goodies to eat!
Mommy can't wait to get her hands on some of that chocolate.

Has anyone ever received a "trick" on beggar's night? I would love to hear about it.

Happy Halloween.

  2. We never had a trick, but out in Iowa the tradition is you have to tell a joke before you got your candy. So when Jen and Laurie were going out Trick or Treating, they had to find a joke to tell. That actually was pretty funny at times. Great pictures of the girls. Riley really got into it this year.

  3. Does having grown-ups (not just teens--actual MOMS) bring their own bags to the door count as a trick?
