One of the coolest things I've done

If you told me ten years ago that I would one day make a quilt, I would have rolled my eyes, laughed, and thought you were crazy!  Times have changed, and I guess I've changed because guess what?  I'm almost finished with my first quilt!  It's so fun and rewarding to try something new and unexpected.
As some of you know, I started sewing a little over a year ago and I have loved it as a new hobby (in spite of the fact that I still find it somewhat intimidating).  So when some of the women at our church started a quilting group, I decided to join them this past fall.  We meet twice a month and it has been such a blessing. Ladies of all ages and quilting experience attend and in between lots of laughter and chatting, we get a couple squares cut and a few stitches in.
Here's the quilt top that I pieced together.  I'm calling it "firstborn" since it's my first quilt : ).   I'm currently in the process of actually quilting it and once the binding is done, it will be finished!!
