2 Months

Life has changed for us and we're so thankful.  We are loving this little baby and truly truly enjoying her. All of the newborn things are so sweet and endearing to me.  I even love the smell of her baby breath!  She started really smiling a few weeks ago and she's a heart melter, for sure : )
Sarah is a fairly "easy baby" ... or maybe I'm just more easygoing this time around.   She cries at all the right times and spits up constantly, which is new thing for John and me and our laundry : )

People frequently ask me "how's the transition been?"
Of course it's chaos at the beginning, but we're slowly falling into our routine now.
Going from 2 to 3 has actually been easier than I expected - just as everyone said.
I'm trying to be easy on myself when it comes to getting things done : )
I know I comment often about how parenthood has taught me so very much, but it really is such an avenue of God's grace and teaching in my life.  As the girls grow at my feet, I often feel like my heart is filled to the brim with love and affection for them.  Will they ever really know how much I love and care for them?! ... even with all of our selfishness, shortcomings, and sin!?!
Then I think of God's indescribable perfect abiding love for us. And just to think that it's a gift and nothing we do can earn it ... or lose it.  God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Aren't the photos lovely? My dear friend Allison, who is a photographer, came over for a visit and on a whim she took these photos : )

  3. Being a mom also makes me think of the verse in Luke that says "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" It's amazing to me how we desire so much to give to our children out of love--then to think how much more He desires to give and give and give to us! :)
