Words from a 7 (almost 8) year old
Anna: "Mom, I don't understand why saying 'shut up' is so bad. It means the same thing as saying 'be quiet,' doesn't it?"
Mom: "Hmmm ... it's an impolite and disrespectful way of saying, 'be quiet.'"
Anna: "But isn't it how I say it? What if I say it like this, (With a soft and gentle tone & smiling) 'Will you please shut up?'"
.......
Anna: "When I grow up I want to be a teacher. I want to have four kids ... 2 girls and 2 boys. I'm going to name the boys Jacob and Caleb. I hope the girls are twins so I can name them Mia and Maya or Isabelle and Annabelle."
.......
Anna: "Mom can you please keep Sarah's sippy cup away from me?"
Mom: "umm ... what do you mean? What's going on?"
Anna: "I can't stand the smell of milk. Sarah keeps putting her sippy cup up to my lips. Then I opened it for her and got a real smell of the milk. I DON'T like milk. I just want you to know that I'm never drinking milk ever again in my life."
.....
A friend posted something on Facebook about Anna, and we let her read the post.
Her reply
Anna: "I can't believe it! I'm so impressed that I was on Facebook!"
