On Wednesday morning, Payton, Anna, and I went horseback riding. The guide took us into the park and through a trail that eventually led us along a path by the Colorado River. I asked Payton if she was nervous and she said, "No, not really." The guide had to pull Payton's horse for a bit of the ride, since Payton couldn't kick her horse hard enough to get her going. The girls were especially surprised by the frequency and volume of the horses' potty stops :)
Afterwards we went to the park for the last time & walked the Coyote Valley trail. It was my favorite.
Anna asked, "This is the best vacation ever, right Mom?"
We had dinner & dessert in Grand Lake that evening. I'm so glad we chose Grand Lake as our Colorado destination. The town has a western, rustic charm. You can't find a chain restaurant, store, coffee house, hotel. etc.!
What a cool town! Nick and I always love going to local places when we travel.
