To Michigan and back

The girls and I traveled with my parents to Michigan this past week in order to visit my brother, Daniel, and his family.
Two little turkeys- Anna with her cousin, Ethan
They were attached the entire weekend!

The littlest turkeys- Payton and Cody
My brother Daniel and me (Paul, we missed you)
So, after dragging the children to the Henry Ford museum and spending 4.5 hours there, the kiddos found their own form of entertainment. Can you blame them? After taking this picture I looked at Daniel and said, "So, do you think it's time to go?"

On another note.... I like to take advantage of uninterrupted time with my parents. So, with the 4+ hr van ride to and from Michigan, I had a lot of time to ask probing questions like- How do you feel about getting older? Approaching 70? Defining moments in your life? Can you tell me the Navy stories one more time, Dad? Usually when I pose such questions I get a "look" and a chuckle from my Dad that clearly communicates his familiarity with this routine and his thought of "here we go again." Here's a pic I took of my parents at the museum. They loved the 1950's. After trying to persuade them to pose for a photo, this is the best shot I could get.
