John and I got crazy and decided to play the wild card... road trip with young kids. We took a short, low-key vacation to Tennessee to visit John's sister, Crystal, and then went further south to Alabama to visit his brother, Stephen. For the most part the girls were great travelers, except that I don't recommend driving 8+ hrs. with a potty training toddler, unless of course, you like to stop every 30-40 minutes. We encountered many false alarms. You don't know how many times we wanted to say, "just go in your pull-up, honey." We just couldn't let our hard work go to waste. Anyway, Crystal was a great hostess. We enjoyed seeing her cute little town and new digs. Her house was full of toddler fun... wildflowers, garden with cherry tomatoes, lots of goldfish crackers, and big dogs.
You'll notice in this photo that Anna was trying to act like one of the dogs. Payton received lots of sniffs and tickles from the dogs.

This looks like a great trip. And Anna seems like a total bundle of laughs. What a funny girl. Glad you guys were able to get away.
