All of my friends and blog readers probably know by now that I take advantage of opportunities to spend time with my close college friends. I'm thankful for these lifelong friendships and it's an amazing blessing that we've stayed so well connected over the years. This past weekend seven of us met in Cincinnati for a fun and special weekend.
Here are some things we typically do at these reunions:
Clothing Swap - We don't limit it just to clothing. Everyone takes turns showing/auctioning off what they brought. Believe it or not, it is a very funny time (funniest moment was when Jenn fell asleep and we all piled unwanted items on top of her). My favorite thing this year was the massive amount of ribbon my friend Andrea brought from an outlet near her home in DC. I scored big time : )
Shopping- After a much needed trip to Starbucks, we spent Saturday morning at the GAP clearance center. We all met in the dressing rooms at the same time so that we could ask for opinions. Once again, this provided a ton of laughs and considering the time spent there, only a few items of clothing.
Dinner out- We were exhausted after leaving the gap, so we lounged on Christy's couches for most of Saturday afternoon. No one realized that her family room clock was broken and always said "3:30." This was one thing that caused us to not leave for dinner until 10:00 that night - I can't remember the last time I was at a restaurant at midnight! Fun times. : )
Sharing & Book Swap - Every friend takes a different time over the weekend to share about this past year. This is, of course, a very intimate time with laughter, encouragement, and sometimes tears. Everyone also brings a book that they enjoyed from the past year, and on Sunday we do an exchange.
A great time!!
YAY for a fun weekend with college friends! I'm impressed you've kept up the reunions in light of living apart and having kids. Nothing beats a weekend away with the girls!
