Well, we've obviously moved on to 2011 and I'm still not done blogging about 2010! It looks like I'm going to have to write a quick summary about Christmas and then move on. I don't want to get behind. : )
We had a quiet Christmas Eve. After our family dinner, we read about Jesus, opened up some new pajamas, played around the tree, welcomed Grandma and Grandpa, and tucked the girls in bed. Then, John and I enjoyed pulling out all of the hidden presents and stuffing the stockings.
Christmas morning was special. Anna was at a nice age this year to really enjoy the holiday. She eagerly anticipated Christmas morning, was genuinely thankful for the gifts she received, and understood the birth/redemptive plan of Christ a little more clearly - all a blessing to our hearts. Payton was so cute and hilarious. She was excited and animated about her gifts, even the $1 coloring books from Target. It doesn't take much to please a 2-year old. After opening gifts, we made a nice Christmas breakfast, a tradition passed down from John's family.
Later in the day, we said goodbye to my parents and drove to Indiana to celebrate with John's family. We had such a relaxing time while we were there. We're so thankful that John's brother and sister could also be in town. Our biggest activity of the weekend was taking the girls sledding : )
Happy New Year!!!
Wonderful!!
