It's surreal, really.
I can't believe this day has come.
Change is exciting & hard.
It is exciting to think about this day and all that it means. Kindergarten will be fun and full of new friends, learning, and adventure. This will also be a different and challenging year for Anna & our family, but we are looking forward to how God will use this experience to grow and mature Anna and to teach us more about discipling our children.
It is hard to not have Anna home with us all day long. We missed her this morning. It is hard to not know everything that is happening for those 3 hrs that she is away from my care ... to relinquish some control. It is hard to say goodbye to the preschool years and to watch my baby grow up. It's like a good friend said, "tears are part of the gift of motherhood."
Anna has been very excited about starting school. She told me that she was looking forward to art projects and being with friends. She was slightly nervous about a a few things like, "mean kids?" and "What if I don't know how to do something?"
She was up early this morning and ready to get started. John & I had a time of sharing and praying with her this morning to which she replied, "Excuse me Dad, but you all are talking a lot and I don't have time to eat the rest of my breakfast." When she got on the bus she looked so small but so excited and confident. I'm happy for her ...
and so thankful. for so much.
When we walked into the house after dropping off Anna, Payton said, "I want to make new friends too, Mommy."
Getting on the bus - she only rides with preschoolers and other kindergartners!
Look at those excited eyes!
Coming home to tell me all about her day : )
With all of the neighborhood kids.
In front of her classroom during a "phase-in day" last week.
Hope she enjoys it as much as her Dad. I remember how he cried the first time he was sick and we didn't "allow" him to go to school. He was devastated.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of Anna! Hope she continues to love going to school!! Also, you look great :)
