Florida Vacation 2014 (Part 1)

We took a spring break vacation to Florida this year!  A few months ago it was recommended to us that we get away and head south. After a long winter & rough first trimester, it was a much desired vacation. I can't believe we took the plunge and did it. It was so nice to get away. We booked a place on Okaloosa Island, close to Ft. Walton/Destin, invited John's parents to join us, and off we went last week.

This was the first time for the girls to see the ocean and visit a salt water beach. That made this trip extra terrific and memorable. Some friends recommended a condo resort to us and it was just perfect. It was super kid friendly and right on the beach. It was so nice to not have to drive to the beach or pack lunches since we were only a five minute walk from the ocean to our room.

We arrived very late on Saturday and I woke up on Sunday to my Birthday. Anna woke up and came into our room around 7:00. I told her to throw on some clothes so we could run down to the beach.  This was one of my favorite memories of the whole week.  We snuck out and I just loved sharing that moment with Anna seeing the ocean for the first time. She had no inhibitions and just ran into the water fully clothed! It was so cute and sweet.  About 30 minutes later, John, Payton, Sarah, and Nana joined us and that just added to my birthday happiness :)  After everyone got cold enough, we headed back to the condo for breakfast and then spent the rest of the morning/afternoon at the beach and resort pools.
 Anna in the morning :)
 Sarah wasn't a fan of the sand/beach .... yet :)
 Payton's excitement was priceless
Nana and Sarah before the sun came out.
Playing and loving the sun, sand, and water.  John and the girls did do some boogie boarding but I didn't get any pics :(
Sarah warmed up to the sand :)

That evening we went out for my birthday dinner at Fudpuckers, a local restaurant. I love this pic of John eating an oyster that the bartender gave him. He doesn't like them but somehow managed to gulp it down.  A funny memory of this evening was Sarah drinking Nana's Pina Colada (Virgin).  She didn't want to give it up!

The girls dancing on a little stage at the restaurant.
A LOVELY Day.  Thank you, Lord.
