Gender Reveal

4 Children!!  I'm still wrapping my mind around the fact that we will have 4 kids come this August. It seems daunting, exciting, and all sorts of other feelings and expectations wrapped up in my tender heart. Wow!

We are so thankful for each daughter that God has placed in our home and hearts.  Who knew that I would be a Mom to 3 girls?  10 years ago we would have never expected it, but we wouldn't change a thing.   Last night John and I were talking about the ultrasound today and the "what ifs" about either gender.  When talking about having 4 girls, John said, "If we have 4 girls we will be such a special and unique family.  God rarely hands out 4 girls."

And that is what God did. He is giving us 4 daughters!  I'm so thankful that God has a perfect, not always easy, plan for our family.  We have loved the ride!  Baby girl, you will love it here :)

Here I am at 20 weeks right before we left for the appointment.  I will forever have the memory of this ultrasound in my mind.  It was great. Our tech was super friendly and talkative. He was actually training a doctor on ultrasounds, so there were two guys in there with us. The tech told us his wife has 5 sisters, they are all close, and have an awesome fun family. That was nice to hear as we were anticipating the news of another girl. We told the tech that we didn't want to find out the gender in the office, so he printed off a pic of the baby with the gender typed on the pic.  He put it in a envelope and we were off to my actual OB appt. They were running late at my doc's office, so we had to wait an hour before we got called back. My goodness!  We were so excited and nervous and crawling out of our skin... passing the time watching The Price is Right :)  After the appointment, we went to the classy restaurant, Five Guys :) Yum!  John opened the envelope and we shared a great moment, just the two of us, finding out about our baby girl. It was fun to do it this way our last time.
After we found out, John said, "I'm the most blessed man in the world."
After we found out the gender I texted my friend Julie. She owns a bakery and prepared some gender reveal (pink in the center) cupcakes for the girls. When Anna came home the girls could hardly wait to find out the gender AND to eat the cupcake. It was so fun for them.

Anna was excited, Payton was surprised, and Sarah only cared about the cupcake :)
Half way there!   FYI -  baby looks healthy as far as we can tell and she is measuring big.  Please, not too big!!

  3. Congrats! You look fabulous! What a fun family it will be, for sure! I can imagine all the mothering this littlest one will receive. When my mom had my brother, we would fight over who would get to hold him. hahah! I think I thought he was my own. :) Excited for your family.
