Jane - 18-20 months

Oh Jane!  She is keeping us on our toes.  She is at the crazy 1.5 year stage. If you know me, you know that this is the most challenging age for my patience.  I have to look back at old blog posts to remind myself that this age will pass, and I will one day get some sanity back. In the meantime, I pray for grace & adore her sweet face.  She's at a challenging stage, but we love her so very much and couldn't imagine our family without her.

She's a climber and gets into lots of mischief.  Of all my toddlers, this one has the least fear. I truly think she wants to catch up to her sisters.  We went on a hike last weekend and she wanted to walk most of the way. She kept up for a good part of it, but her short attention span and little legs failed her.   She had about 5 new teeth push through this past month.  She's using a spoon with some decent skill. She's a bottomless pit.  Her favorite foods are muffins, eggs, yogurt, soup, & fruit, and tonight she gobbled up some salad (who knew!?!).  She can be stingy with her kisses and hugs, but when she gives them, prepare to be melted!  She will occasionally still suck her thumb. She liked to hold a diaper (strange, I know!).  Her favorite stuffed animal is the pillow pet bear that Anna bought her for Christmas.  She won't watch TV. She prefers her daddy.  She likes to dance. She likes to "read" books.  I wish her vocab would grow because she mostly screams and grunts to communicate.  Her sisters love her, fight over her, and can't wait to get her out of the crib each morning.

Get me out of this thing! I'm ready to hike!
"Yep, I like to pull my shirt over my head."
"This is my way of helping empty the dishwasher."
"It only took me 5 seconds to climb into this sink!"
"I want to color for 30 seconds, ok?"

  2. Jane and Aria sound so similar. Aria's favorite thing to do is climb the stairs, to my chagrin. So happy to read these updates--you've reminded me I haven't done one for a while!
