Thoughts

1.  The photos below are from when Payton ate dirt for the first time.  Our friends have a great sandbox and when we're over at their house Payton likes to make dirt soup.  When we were there a few weeks ago a friend saw her in action and asked, "is it ok if Payton eats dirt?"  Sure enough, there she was, playing by herself and eating dirt.  I asked her if it tasted good and she said "Yes!"  Then I heard a little crunch coming from her mouth for the next hour. : )

2.) I am nesting.  I've made my way through most of the baby bins by now. Tonight I shuffled through the clothing bin so I could wash the newborn items. It's pretty much all girly stuff, most of which I've had since Anna was a baby. I got really teary eyed and sentimental. AHHH!!!  Anyway,  I somehow just came up with a massive to do list today.  Why does that happen 2 weeks before the baby is due?   I'm sure I'll hardly make a dent.   My doc tells me, "nesting causes women to organize a closet that will return to disorganization two months after the baby arrives."

3.)  Having a toddler around really helps me to learn more about holding loosely to material possessions.  We only own one set of nice sheets for our bed ( I have expensive taste when it comes to sheets).  Well, the other day I was taking the sheets off the bed to put them in the wash and I noticed pen marks and drawings all over our white sheets.  What!?!  I had to take a few minutes to address my own heart before I dealt with the situation.  The culprit knew what she was up to because I also found pen markings on her bed frame.  She denied and lied about her involvement, but clearly her "style" of writing gave her away.  I kept asking her what she was thinking about when she did it and why she thought it was ok to do so, but I never got a clear answer.  Aren't you curious to know?  Well, thankfully,  I got some of it out with Zout and bleach, but the evidence and memory will live on. : )
