Wedding Bells!

Wedding Bells in Birmingham, Alabama!  John's brother, Stephen, married his bride this past Saturday.  Danielle is a beautiful, intelligent, and loving young lady.  We are so happy to welcome her to the family : )

The wedding festivities were all lovely and just perfect, really.  The rehearsal dinner was intimate but fun - lots of nice speeches and a slideshow.  Sunny and 70's on the wedding day.  The ceremony took place at the chapel at Samford University where Danielle & Stephen attended college.  The campus has its own unique character and charm - a great place for their vows .... and their photos : )  It was so fun to see Danielle and Stephen together that day.  They looked like they were soaking up every moment. Anna and Payton were the flower girls and they did such a good job.  Sarah slept through the ceremony - an answer to my prayers because she is very noisy these days!  There were only a few other children at the wedding/reception so our girls got a lot of attention.

They did not have a typical setting for their reception and I LOVED what they did.  Instead of hosting their guests in a banquet type of room/setting, they had the reception at a place called the Veranda on Highland.  It's an older home that's been turned into a restaurant.  Guests mingled in several different rooms and ate dinner at their own leisure at the tables that were set up throughout the place.  It was super nice and grand but also a bit laid back and comfortable. As a guest, I felt more like a participant and less like a spectator. Really liked it.
My only disappointment is that I didn't get more photos at the reception and John and I never got a photo with the bride and groom. BUMMER!! We were too busy chasing around the kiddos, I guess.  Anna fell asleep before the night was over,  Payton danced the night away (a nap does wonders : ),  and Sarah spit up  her dinner on one of the guests (someone we know, thankfully).  A memorable weekend.

Congrats to Danielle and Stephen!  We love you!
