Ok, this is the last post about our vacation! Wednesday was our final day in New Orleans and it was just the four of us. We took the street car from our hotel to the zoo across town. Anna thought it was so special to be on the "bus." She liked peering out the window and observing all of the people who came on and off.
I must admit that sometimes I feel bad about wild animals being cooped in exhibits just so we can admire them, but the Audubon Zoo was probably the best zoo I've ever visited. They had all of the big attractions and it was a highlight for the girls.
Anna liked being in charge of the map. She took it very seriously and enjoyed guiding us around.
In the evenings we would return to the hotel, eat dinner, and then take the girls to the pool. Anna has been working hard at putting her head under and being more comfortable in the water. She had a "break-through" while we were on vacation and started swimming a little bit under water and without assistance. We are so proud of her!
Thursday morning before the 16 hour car ride home!

Maybe next time we should just rent a room at the Hampton Inn down the street. Children can be so easy to please.
We really had a terrific vacation and I'm so thankful for my family and the opportunity to spend this extra and special time with them making memories.
I love the picture of Payton laying her head on John's shoulder.
ReplyDeleteShe looks very content.

ReplyDeleteBut Lilly did miss Payton an awful lot. . .
