Paul, my brother, had arranged ahead of time that each respective family in our group would plan a day at a park. John and I were in charge of Tuesday - The Magic Kingdom! I know this sounds so corny, but this day was one of my most fun days as a parent.
My favorite memory of this day was in the morning. We made reservations (6 months ago!) to have breakfast at Cinderella's castle. Our reservations were at 8:15 so we got into the park an hour before opening. It was so cool to walk down main street with only about 50 other guests in the park (see photo below). The girls were so excited to see the castle, let alone go in it! We entered the restaurant and waited in line to meet Cinderella. We got our picture taken with her and then walked up a winding staircase to the dining room. Breakfast was fun because four other princesses were "presented" in the castle and then they walked around to each table to the meet the guests. My girls haven't seen "The Little Mermaid," so when Areil came by I told my niece to ask her why she disobeyed her Father. Ariel said, "Oh, you will understand when you're older that sometimes you disobey your parents when you shouldn't." (????) Belle was by far the sweetest and most personable princess that visited us. The actress was older (30's maybe) and I thought she reminded me of a very sweet Mom : ) Anna told her, "My favorite thing to do is read." Belle said, "Me too!"
We spent the rest of the morning riding many of the popular Disney rides and then took the girls back for naps in the early afternoon. We returned to the park in the evening and rode some of their favorite rides - the carousel, the tea cups, and "It's a Small World." What is it about that ride? So cute. The girls loved it. Their excitement was so fun and contagious. We stayed till closing so we could watch the awesome electrical parade and fireworks.
The Magic Kingdom isn't just another amusement park. It's so unique. The details! The creative attractions! We were totally into it. It was a memorable day.
Anna and Audrey picked the princess ears. Payton picked Dumbo but they wouldn't stay on her head so we had to return them : (
Hardly anyone there!!
Our table at the castle. What's going to happen next?
Snow White was very quiet! Anna asked her about the 7 dwarfs and we could barely hear her response. Laryngitis? ha ha
Belle picked up Sarah : )
hugs from Belle and my brother taking footage : )
