Disney Vacation 2012 (Part 3)

On Wednesday we went to Epcot.  Now, I know that most people say Epcot isn't a kid friendly Disney park, but I disagree ... a little.  It certainly wasn't the best park for children, especially for the younger kiddos, but it had a lot to offer.

Our first stop was to meet Mickey and all of his friends.  Epcot was a great place to do this because there were no lines to see characters!  We spent the rest of the morning in the furture world section. Some of the highlights were the "Living in the Land" ride, the Nemo ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, and Soarin.  I sat with Payton on the Nemo ride and it was so cute to see her face light up as we followed Nemo through the water.  Riding Soarin with Anna was one of my favorite memories because Anna was so excited and fascinated with the ride and "flying over the whole world even Cinderella's castle!"  She wasn't in the least bit scared even though my heart was racing a little.  Turtle Talk with Crush was a neat experience too.  It's a "show" where the kids get to interact and talk with Crush.  He's a 3D computer animated turtle in real time.  Crush called on Anna and asked her if she could swim and Anna said, "Yes, but I don't want to be a Turtle." : )

After naps, we returned to the park and hit the World Showcase section.  We walked through some of the different countries and even met Aladdin and Jasmine.  I told Jasmine that she had something in common with my girls - long eye lashes : )  The girls were fascinated with her hair.  The highlight of the evening was eating at the German Biergarten restaurant.  My brother was in charge of planning Epcot and he chose this restaurant because he LOVES German food.  I'm not a big fan but the atmosphere in the restaurant was fun.  They had a live band come out and play German folk songs.  Paul and I were the first ones out on the dance floor (ha ha).  The kids followed us and went crazy.  I think it was fun because we were a large group.

We ended the evening with the ride in Mexico and the Maelstrom ride in Norway.  Who knew that Trolls were from Norway?!? What!?!  We kept laughing about that one : ) We were also really interested in how Disney got native people from every country to work there. We asked a few people ... Interesting : )  We ended the evening with the Illuminations show.  Then, we crashed right along with the kids ... like we did every night!

Anna lost her tooth at Epcot - very exciting for a six year old!

I wanted a cute pic with Sarah but this is what I got!!

 Anna and Audrey were attached!

  3. Is that a fanny pack? I need a post about that. Also we learned that the thing about Disney is that you can't ask questions, you just have to go with it. Epcot sounds fun.
