We had a WONDERFUL weekend! Our friends came to visit us from Michigan and to attend John and Eric's 10 year college reunion at Cedarville. We are so blessed to have them as dear friends. It's hard to describe our relationship with them other than it is gift from God - the kind where you feel loved, accepted, and 100% comfortable even though we have so many weaknesses.
Our time with them is especially precious these days because ...
#1 Erin almost died after delivering her fourth child (4th boy!) 6 months ago! It's true that sometimes you don't realize how much you really love someone until you almost lose them.
#2 They are leaving in one year to be medical missionaries in Africa. Eric just finished his general surgery residency and they are looking forward to serving the Lord at a mission hospital in Kenya where he can help disciple the hearts and train the hands of national doctors. Please pray for them as they prepare this year and serve thereafter. Words can not express how much we will miss them!
Eric and Erin always spur us on to love and good deeds. Their love for the Lord far surpasses their love for this world and all the possessions and prestige that if offers. In our presence they certainly admit their struggles, but their eternal focus shines.
