John and I both had big plans this past weekend. I was leaving for DC for an annual college reunion with friends and John was planning to run in his first ever marathon on Sunday. Grandparents were coming out to watch the kiddos and everything was set for a grand ol time.
... then John came home from work early on Thursday with a stomach bug. We didn't think it was a big deal - maybe food poisoning? My parents still came up and I left for my trip that evening. Oh no! I woke up Friday morning at my friend's house feeling ill. The stomach flu hit every one in my family (must have got the germs before I left) except for Sarah, and my poor parents even got it!!
I was able so salvage part of my weekend since I was feeling better on Saturday, and thankfully none of my friends got sick. Lysol!! I'm thankful that we all have our appetites back, finally, and it looks like John might be able to run in a different marathon in a few weeks.
It's good to remember times like these because our plans don't always come through. In the long run these circumstances seem so trivial, but in the moment it's so disappointing.
Even though the flu put a crimp in my weekend, I still enjoyed seeing my dear friends. We went to a Unique thrift store, had our annual clothing swap, book swap, dinners, late nights, and all around good reunion. LOVE MY FRIENDS!!
I only took 3 iphone photos over the entire weekend and that was when we passed around a crazy wig that we each tried on. I WILL NOT be putting those photos on here. : )
I got photos.
ReplyDeleteOh no Pam! glad you were able to get better for some of the weekend!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any photos of all 7 of us together. :( Maybe I can cut-and-paste us all together!
