The end of vacation!

On Thursday morning we went on a hike.  Much to our disappointment, the girls don't seem to really enjoy hiking, but we make them do it anyway : )  By the end, Payton said, "I did it. I hike!"  As you can see from the photos and the carrier, it was an easy stroll for her : )

Like most days, we spent the remainder of the afternoon at the beach. We ate dinner and window-shopped in the city that evening. Well, I guess John did buy a few things - cherry salsa, cherry vinaigrette, cherry tea, chocolate covered cherries, etc.   We let the girls have one last walk on the beach before bedtime - that's when I took most of the photos you see below with the girls in their dresses.

We finished the weekend by visiting my Brother and his family on the way home Friday. That was such a special evening b/c we met our new nephew, Matthew, for the first time. He's a cutie.

We're so thankful to have had a nice vacation. It was such a blessing to us.

Payton:  "I don't want the ducks to eat my bathing suit!"

Anna:  "mmm ... when I put the peanut and the M&M in my mouth at the same time it's like crunchy and chocolatey at the same time .... mmmm!"

(That was her response when she ate a peanut and a plain M&M at the same time. She was also jumping up and down.)

Stranger on the beach:  "Does that little girl already have her adult teeth?" - when looking at Payton : )
