I like rugs. I think they look especially nice under dining room/kitchen tables. Of course many people told me that having a rug under a kicthen table would be nightmare with young children. I took a little risk, and last month I decided to go ahead and put one in our eating area. So far, I like it! It cuts down on noise in that room and really "warms" up the space. Most importantly, it hides lots of crumbs, so I dont' have to sweep under the table after every meal. In fact, I just get the vacuum out 2-3 times a week. Nice and easy : ) It's already been through a few spills and one potty accident : ) ... we'll see if I still like it in a few months.
A year ago we painted these two rooms and the colors just weren't quite right. We only had six windows in our old house and choosing colors was so easy there - the colors looked the same on the walls as the swatch, and really, the colors didn't change through out the day. Now, we get so much beautiful natural light in this home, and it's really messing with my color selections. (Can you tell that I'm trying to justify re-painting?) : )
Well, we did repaint the rooms and we're happier with the colors .... most of the time : )
You're brave on the rug... :) I like the colors! I think the DR is pretty!
ReplyDeletei'm a HUGE fan of natural neutrals! i love the paint colors. mostly though, i LOVE all your windows! it's great to have so much natural light... and even better that you don't look at other houses, just the fields and trees!

I think you should paint your kitchen table black and get black and white patterned curtains.
