Surprise, Surprise!!!

Both of my parents were born in November of 1940, which means they turn 70 in just a few weeks!  A while back my brothers and I talked about wanting to honor and celebrate my parents as they usher in this new decade of their lives.  We decided to give them a surprise party, and this past weekend everything came together as planned.  Both of my brothers and their families arrived on Friday evening, and fourteen of their closest friends came on Saturday afternoon.   My parents came to our house around 1:00 and thought that John and I were taking them out to dinner. They were totally shocked to find everyone in our kitchen.  I can't believe we pulled it off.  I don't think my Mom breathed for like 60 seconds!   We served lunch, gave speeches, presented gifts, and everyone reminisced over fond memories while viewing a slideshow of photos from childhood to present.  It was a WONDERFUL time and such a great blessing to be able to do this for our dear parents.

Almost the entire family ( we missed my sister-in-law, Ling)
