Basketball

After much careful thought, we decided to get Anna involved in her first team sport/activity.  Basketball it is!  She's playing on a YMCA team that meets on Saturday mornings.  At this age, the game is super laid back -   the teams don't keep score, players aren't allowed to steal the ball, and the referees work with the kids on the fundamentals of the game. Not a lot of rules are applied!  Have you ever watched kids play sports at this age?  It is so new, fun, and entertaining.  For example, during one of the games Anna had the ball and all five players from the other team decided to guard her - she was surrounded with ten arms stretched in front of her.  Of course, the referees directed the kids to guard other players, and then it took Anna about 45 seconds to pass the ball. : )   It's fun to watch the children on the court.

Anna has yet to show a real interest in sports, but this has definitely been a great learning experience for her and we're thankful that it looks like she's finally enjoying herself out there.  Her favorite part of the game is the snack at the end!

We look forward to all the other things that are in store for her!

  1. Cooper is the b-ball player at our house. Maybe he and Anna can play a little one-on-one next time we're together! Ha!
