Family Time (Volume 1)

I always chuckle a little when I say, "family night."  It sounds so arranged and generic and implies that we have to schedule time together in order to spend time together.  That's just not the case when you have young children, is it?  I mean, most evenings when we're together seem like family nights around here.  I hope it stays that way for a very long time, but I know that as the kids get older, life will get busier and change.  So, that's one of the reasons why we're purposeful in having these special nights/days.   It's a time to set aside our to-do lists and just enjoy each other and being together as a family.

I like reading about some of the fun and creative things that families do together.  It's always nice to get new ideas.  So, I thought I would post about some of things we do.  My ideas are NOT original or really creative, for that matter.  : )

On Friday we went out for burgers and fries at Five Guys - a great, kid-friendly place : )  The girls had no problem finishing that meal!    Afterwards we went to Barnes and Noble.  This has always been a favorite cold weather/winter activity for our family.  The girls could stay entertained and content in that store for hours.   John and I shared a peppermint mocha, we browsed through books/magazines, and read to the girls.  It's always a fun time and so much easier now that Payton is a little bit older.
